In 2013, Vancouver Art Gallery got an endowment of very nearly 600 Callahan photos from the Larry and Cookie Rossy Family Foundation. He settled in Aix-en-Provence, where he took numerous photos. Alongside the painter Richard Diebenkorn, Papa Roach he spoke to the United States in the Venice Biennale in 1978. In 1994, he chose 130 unique prints with the assistance of the display proprietor Peter MacGill, and united them under the name of French Archives, to offer them to the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. A portion of these pictures were taken Papa Roach in Aix-en-Provence and in the South of France, and are the subject of a transitory show at the Granet Museum in Aix-en-Provence in 2019.
